Here is an example of a floral arrangement for a signing table we did recently. The bride wanted the flowers to be the main thing, overflowing and full, and in colours to compliment her bouquet.

This is is in the same style as can be used for floral arbours. We are also able to make the arrangement so that it can be used as an arbour and then taken down to use for the bridal table. This can help to save on costs, for the budget conscious.

If you are getting married on the Gold Coast and are looking for a Florist, or for any other occasion, contact us and see what we can do.

A Gold Coast Florist talks about Roses and Fragrance

There is a misconception among many people we speak with who come into our studio, that roses these days are devoid of any fragrance. While this is often the case, there are some wonderful varieties that produce scent, and some, to an astounding degree.

‘Cottage’ style roses are the most likely to satisfy your aroma-craving senses. With many in shades of white, pink, and apricot, showing off a heady, traditional old-world rose scent. There are also some standard size blooms that produce a more subtle, yet sweet fragrance.

Also, there are some varieties of what we call ‘cluster’ roses, which yield soft to strong perfume (The darker magenta-pink roses in the picture below are an example of these).

So, if you are seeking fragrant roses, please ask us – and we’ll see what we can find for you. (But do give us some days notice for specific things.)

We recommend locally grown roses for the best fragrances – however there are some imported varieties that do still carry a scent.

Our shop has been described as ‘quirky’, ‘calm’, ‘interesting’, and ‘a little box of zen’. People often also comment on how nice it smells! (Being that we’re here everyday, we kind of get used to it, so it’s nice to know our flowers have a good fragrance!).

We try to have ready-to-go flower bunches at the front of shop if you are wanting to pick something up, but if there’s nothing made up that you like, we can always make up a bouquet for you to your special request.

Alternatively, you are most welcome to phone to place an order, or order online. It’s our job to make sure your flowers are lovely, and we pride ourselves in this.

Hopefully we’ll see you soon!

Pretty-Bouquet in cardboard vase

This is a flower order we fulfilled recently, a pretty pastel bouquet. For ease of transport and presentation we will sometimes use or offer our customers these neat ‘cardboard vases’.
If the bouquet will be at a hospital or similar place, it is very handy – particularly if you don’t want to send something permanent such as a glass vase. The vase is lined with thick plastic, so it can hold water and keep the bouquet hydrated for a couple of days with no problems.

These interesting rhipsalis plants would have to be one of our favourite things – they are remarkably hardy – putting up with it if we over or under water. Also, unlike other succulent varieties, they are okay out of direct sun, which is awesome, because come on, don’t we all want to grow succulents inside? (They do still need light of course, but can survive well in a window with a little morning light.)
Check out more plants in our online shop, or pop in today.

Sunflowers have been growing in popularity recently, and we’ve noticed more and more of you are asking for them. Which is great! We love sunflowers too.

We try to stock them every week, but don’t have them all the time. If you would like us to keep some aside for you, let us know the week before you will need them. Sunflowers usually come in on a Monday (but not always, sometimes they come on other days too, so just let us know what is best for you.)

Some things to keep in mind when ordering sunflowers:

– Sunflowers often come in tight, still to open up. So they might look like green buds for a few days. If you need them to be open or opening, you will need to let us know ahead of time by a few days.
– Sunflower stems are soft and go yukky quickly in water. Make sure you re-cut the stems every other day and change the water to keep the water and the sunflowers fresh.Jute bag florals. Yellow, orange, red. Gold Coast delivery.

burgundy-seasonal flowers gold coast delivery parkwood florist

Some beautiful tones that are getting chosen more often over the last year are burgundy with complimentary colours. Burgundy can look especially striking with deep pink. It can look very elegant with ivory, and rustic when paired with wildflowers. It is a deep, enthralling and moody colour, but never overwhelms if cleverly offset.
